Our Mission Statement

To create community and a world that works by sharing issues that are happening in one place with people living in another area.  

The thought behind this is that what is happening in Vancouver, Canada may also be happening in Moscow, Russia or Pretoria, South Africa and if we allow people living in those areas to share what they see are issues and possible solutions, then there is the possibility of having a world that works.

Our Goal

To give people the opportunity to transform the world through film by allowing them to share what they see is an issue and any possible solutions they see for that issue.  

 

Background

5 Minutes to Change Your World was created while I was participating in the Self Expression and Leadership Program at Landmark Education.  In this program you create a project that makes a difference in your community.  

 

Around the start of this program a friend of mine came back from East Timor.  He was the Security Advisor for Care Canada there.  While we where walking he starts telling me that he is dealing with a bunch of people (mostly kids) who have nothing to lose, and that when someone gives them a gun, they think that it is power, and since they have nothing to lose, they use the gun.
